Sabrina Carpenter took over Scotiabank Arena on Monday, and although the show wasn’t short, it certainly was sweet, especially for one lucky fan.

The popstar kicked off the first of two nights of her ‘Short ‘n’ Sweet’ tour in Toronto on Monday night, bringing fans chart-topping hits, electrifying energy, and even “arresting” a lucky fan.

Carpenter opened up the show with fan favourite single, “Taste”, off her sixth studio album Short ‘n’ Sweet before quickly transitioning into “Manchild” off her latest album Man’s Best Friend, which was recently nominated for Album of the Year at the 2026 GRAMMY Awards.

Carpenter’s setlist instantly took fans off their feet — seats in the arena remained nearly empty as fans danced, and sang lyrics word-for-word as the GRAMMY-winning artist lit up the stage.

But it wasn’t just the setlist that captured the audience, but rather the set itself, which featured a life-sized two-story house reminiscent of a dollhouse, with a bedroom and even bathroom.

With the set, Carpenter was able to literally take her fans on a house tour as she danced from room-to-room.

But it wouldn’t be a Short n’ Sweet tour without some sweet surprises. At one point, Carpenter decided to play a special version of spin the bottle with the crowd: the bottle would spin and land on a number between one to four, which would decide what song she’d perform next.

After the bottle landed on number one, the next song was revealed to be “My Man On Willpower,” a song that had never been performed until the show.

And the surprises didn’t stop there, because one lucky fan would later be “arrested” by Carpenter.

The arrest is an ongoing bit and tradition the singer has done at each of her shows before performing “Juno.” Carpenter pauses briefly to tell the audience she needs to send someone to prison before asking an audience member their name, where they’re from and handing them a pair of pink handcuffs all while the fan is showcased on screen in front of the entire arena.

Previous arrests have included celebs like Anne Hathaway and Nicole Kidman, but last night’s arrest was a fan named Chloe.

Chloe tells Now Toronto the moment was “life changing.”

“As she looked into my eyes and we had contact with my legs went numb,” Chloe said.

She says she had no idea Sabrina would pick her, thinking she would bring out Canadian celebrities like Nina Dobrev, and told her mom to film the arrest just in case she was behind the celebrity. Little did she know, her mom would be filming her.

“She was shocked…  it was all over social media, it was insane. My phone has been blowing up all night,” she said.

The fun won’t stop there, with one more arrest set to take place at her second show on Tuesday night, and fans can witness in person by buying tickets here.
