The Special Investigations Unit is investigating after a landlord-tenant dispute led to the deaths of three people over the weekend.
Hamilton Police said officers were called to a home at 322 Jones Road in Stoney Creek around 5:40 p.m on Saturday, according to a statement.
On arrival, they found a 27-year-old woman and a 28-year-old man dead just outside the residence, both believed to be tenants.
The situation at Jones Rd and Barton has been contained. There is no ongoing risk to public safety.

The 57-year-old landlord proceeded to barricade himself inside his home with firearms as police tried to negotiate a peaceful resolution, police said.
During the incident, police sent out a tweet asking residents in the area to seek shelter in their basement as a safety precaution.
The SIU says around 10 p.m. the suspect fired at a police vehicle and continued to fire shots from his home, which led to a standoff with the police. The man was eventually struck by gunfire and pronounced dead at the scene.

Families of the two tenants have been notified, and police said at this time, the victims’ names will not be released.
The SIU is called in to investigate incidents involving police which result in death, serious injury, sexual assault and/or the discharge of a firearm at a person.
