As summer approaches, the City of Toronto is opening up its park washrooms for the season, and revealing plans to keep them open year-round in the future.

Toronto Mayor Olivia Chow announced on Wednesday at Marie Curtis Park that city staff is now in the process of opening over 1,000 park water assets, which includes washrooms, water fountains, and bottle-filling stations. The assets will remain open for the season between May and October.

“This spring and summer, get outside, bring your family, your neighbours, come to your parks, and the best part, not one of these moments costs you a thing. Toronto’s parks belong to you, and today the water’s back,” Chow said.
