Mayor John Tory’s office was egged early Friday morning, after a tumultuous week filled with the scandal of an in-office affair.
Tory was inside his office when the incident occurred around 6:30 a.m., and didn’t appear too phased, as seen in video captured by CP24.

“ The person left the site swiftly, prior to Corporate Security arriving at the location,” a city spokesperson said to Now Toronto. “The person’s information has been handed over to Toronto Police for further investigation.”
No suspect description has been released by police and it is unknown if any charges will be laid.
This incident came after Tory admitted a week ago to an affair with a former office employee, and announced his decision to resign shortly after.

City council’s budget meeting went forward as scheduled on Wednesday, with advocates and protestors interrupting the forum. Tory attended the meeting as mayor to ensure the budget was passed, as he had not officially stepped down from the job yet. The budget was subsequently passed by council.
Wednesday evening, Tory submitted his official resignation which will come into effect as of 5 p.m. on Friday.
“I want to thank the people of Toronto for trusting me as Mayor since 2014. I continue to be deeply sorry and apologize unreservedly to the people of Toronto and to all those hurt by my actions without exception,” Tory said in the letter.
Deputy Mayor Jennifer McKelvie will be acting mayor until a new leader is elected in a by-election, which will likely be held in June.
McKelvie has confirmed she will not be running in the by-election.
