Toronto police is seeking the public’s assistance in the search for a suspect who dragged an officer with his car.
On Tuesday, Jan. 21, just before 3:30 p.m., police conducted a vehicle stop for a traffic offence in the Lawrence Avenue and Midland Avenue area.
According to investigators, officers pulled over a black BMW after the driver ran a stop sign in a designated school zone.
During the stop, officers determined that the driver was breaching existing release conditions.
When officers attempted to arrest the suspect he shifted the car into drive and dragged an officer a short distance before fleeing the area.
A witness caught the altercation on video.
The footage shows a struggle between two police officers and the suspect. During the tussle the suspect pulls an officer halfway into the vehicle before driving off.

The officer was transported to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, police confirmed in a news release.
Police have identified the suspect as 37-year-old Jerome Fitzroy Morgan of Toronto. He is charged with Assault with a Weapon, Failing to Remain, Failing to Comply with Conditions.
The suspect vehicle is described as a 2011 four-door black BMW with Ontario licence plate CXFS 615.
