A woman who was arrested for auto-theft and running over a man with his vehicle while stealing it in Mississauga, has also been charged by Toronto police in a separate incident.

On Friday, Peel police said Sarah Badshaw, of Brampton, was arrested and charged with Theft of Motor Vehicle, Dangerous Operation Cause Bodily Harm, and Drive No Licence in relation to an auto-theft that resulted in the victim being hit by his own car.

The 18-year-old turned herself in to Peel police the day before the charges were announced.

Badshaw was charged after Peel police appealed to the public for assistance in the investigation by sharing footage of the 18-year-old running over the victim while stealing a 2022 Porsche Cayenne off his driveway.

According to Peel police, on Sept. 6, at around 2:00 p.m., Badshaw responded to an AutoTrader ad posted by the victim who was trying to sell his car.

Home security tapes of the incident showed her arriving at the victim’s front door to inquire about the Porsche, sitting inside the vehicle, locking the victim out, reversing quickly, striking and injuring the victim, then fleeing the scene.

The victim suffered serious, non-life threatening injuries, according to police.

Investigators recovered the stolen Porsche on Sept. 18, after it had been abandoned in Mississauga.

Following her arrest, Peel police confirmed that Badshaw has prior fraud-related charges in Peel and is wanted by other GTA police services in several investigations.

Today, Toronto police charged Badshaw in relation to a separate auto-theft incident that occurred on Sept.11 in the Kipling and Rathburn Road area.

According to investigators, Badshaw and a male suspect arrived at a residence for a pre-arranged meeting to purchase the victim’s vehicle. The victim allowed them to enter the vehicle to inspect the interior and test the engine. The suspects then started the vehicle and immediately drove it away from the area.
