Two more arrests have been made in a daylight shooting that left a Toronto mother dead last month, police say.
In the afternoon of July 7, Toronto police responded to reports of shots fired in the area of Queen Street East and Carlaw Avenue in Leslieville.
Police said there was a physical altercation between three men and two of the men brandished handguns and discharged them at each other.
A woman, who has been identified as 44-year-old Karolina Huebner-Makurat, was walking in the area at the time of the shooting to grab lunch, and was struck by a stray bullet.
She was rushed to hospital where she was later pronounced deceased. Huebner-Makurat leaves behind a husband and two young children. A GoFundMe page was made for Huebner-Makurat’s family and has raised more than $300,000 as of Tuesday afternoon.

The three suspects fled the area on foot. Police released surveillance images of the suspects shortly after the shooting.
Nearly a week later, on July 13, Toronto resident Damian Hudson, 32, was charged with second degree murder in connection with the shooting.

On Tuesday, Toronto police announced two more arrests in the case.
Toronto resident Ahmed Mustafa Ibrahim, 20, is facing three charges, including Manslaughter, Robbery and Fail to Comply with Probation.
The second person arrested was identified as part of an ongoing investigation, police said. Khalila Zara Mohammed, 23, of Pickering, has been charged with Accessory After the Fact to an Indictable Offence and Obstruct Justice.
Both of the suspects were scheduled to appear in court Tuesday morning.
The third suspect involved in the shooting remains outstanding. Police have described him between 18-25 years old, with an average height, slim build and long hair in a ponytail. He was wearing a black baseball hat, a black North Face hoodie, dark-coloured jeans and white shoes.
