FRIDAY

Tarot 101: A Beginner’s Guide

If you’ve been curious about tarot, but don’t know how to go about learning how to do a reading, check out this tarot 101 course. In this workshop, you’ll receive your own tarot deck, notebook, and reference materials to support your learning, which you can also take home as a refresher. 

In this course, explore the history of tarot, and receive a breakdown of the structure and symbolism of the deck as you walk through all 72 cards with clear, easy-to-understand meanings. You’ll also get hands-on experience through guided practice readings. The event runs from 6-8 p.m. and costs $55 plus fees on Eventbrite

Girls Picnic by the Lake

  • Location: 800 Lakefront Promenade, Mississauga

The best dates are with your girls. Check out this girls picnic by the lake in Mississauga from 6-8:30 p.m. Expect a stunning burgundy floral charcuterie arrangement, local vendors for drinks, clothing and arts, desserts, professional photography, and sunset pics at the 18-plus event. The picnic costs $52 plus fees on Eventbrite, and the charity event goes towards women facing domestic violence.

Glow in the Dark Paint & Smoke 

  • Location: 932 Bloor St W.

The best artsy inspiration can sometimes come when you’re high, so check out this glow-in-the-dark paint and smoke event at Toronto’s CAFE dispensary. Happy Daze, in collaboration with The Boardroom Cafe are hosting this event, and attendees receive neon paint and supplies, and an 11×14” canvas included. Munchies, drinks, and weed are available to order at the counter, but you can also bring your own legal supply. The event runs from 8:30-10 p.m. and costs $45 for one, or if you bring a friend, there’s currently a special two-for-one deal. Tickets on Eventbrite.

SATURDAY

Garden Cake Decorating Workshop

Celebrate summer with a garden cake decorating workshop at Forget Me Not Coffee, in collaboration with Sorshi pastry studio. Decorate a whimsical five inch pre-filled and crumb-coated cake of your choice, with either earl grey, blueberry or strawberry shortcake flavoured. The Italian meringue buttercream has choices between vanilla bean, strawberry, matcha or blueberry lavender. Learn how to use piping bags, edible florals, herbs, candied fruit and meringue swans.

At the end, take the cake box home to enjoy. The event runs from 12-2 p.m. and costs $125 plus fees on Eventbrite, or $135 plus fees if you wish to have a drink from Forget Me Not Coffee. 

The Vinyl Garden

  • Location: 453 Parliament St

Give an old record a new life, where music will bloom into art. The Village Art Studio is hosting The Vinyl Garden at La Gloria Mexican Coffee & Brunch. The vinyl-painting workshop will include step-by-step guidance, a vinyl record to paint and take home, acrylic painting techniques and composition tips, and a relaxing cafe atmosphere. 

All painting materials and supplies are included, one drink and waffle combo too. Whether you’re a music lover, beginner painter, couple, or just looking for something fun to do, check out this event from 4-7 p.m. for $45 plus fees on Eventbrite

Murder Mystery Dinner & Show

  • Location: 33 Gerrard St W.

Ever wanted to see a murder mystery in real life… minus the real-life murder? Well, the Chelsea Hotel is hosting a murder mystery dinner and show filled with intriguing characters, a death, and a detective. The best part: you feel immersed in the story as the suspects are spread around the room, sitting with you at the tables. You get to participate and try to solve the mystery.

Show-only tickets cost $50 plus fees and arrival is at 7:30 p.m., with the mystery beginning at 7:45 p.m. until 9:45 p.m. Dinner tickets start earlier at 6:30 p.m. and costs $129 plus fees on Eventbrite

SUNDAY

Paint Your Pup: Dachshund Edition

  • Location: 1 Laws St

Whether you have a dachshund, or simply love that type of dog, create a custom portrait at this painting workshop. Bring your dachshund while they play-off leash in a secure backyard, or if you’re not yet a pet owner, paint any of the dogs you see in the backyard as inspo.

All painting supplies, including a canvas, paints, brushes and easel are included. The painting experience will be guided to help bring out a dachshund’s unique colours, markings and personality. The event runs from 1-3 p.m. and costs $65 plus fees on Eventbrite

7 Forever: BTS Fan Festa

  • Location: 58 Cecil St

ARMY, celebrate all-things BTS with an afternoon filled with art vendors and community, BTS-themed. The event runs from 1-6 p.m., and general admission is free, but ticket holders get to skip the line and enjoy exclusive goodies. 

Tier one costs $6 plus fees, tier two costs $15 plus fees, and tier three costs $30 plus fees, all with different goodies included. Get your ticket on Eventbrite

Sunset Yacht Party

  • Location: 539 Queens Quay W.

Finish the weekend watching the sunset and capturing beautiful pictures on a yacht. Dress up with sunset-inspired colours (optional glitter) for a sunset yacht party running from 6-9:30 p.m. For the price of $122 plus fees on Eventbrite, enjoy a three-hour cruise aboard the Mega Yacht, a live DJ, one complimentary drink, curated bites, and picture-perfect photo opportunities.
