Celebrate the best Filipino food and culture at Toronto’s Fun Philippines street festival this weekend.

This free festival will line the streets of Bathurst Street and Wilson Avenue with authentic Filipino street food, live performers, games and cultural installations on July 22 and 23.

The event is organized by the Philippine Legacy and Cultural Alliance (PLACA) and aims to illuminate Filipino culture by putting local talents at centre stage, as well as provide fun programs and exciting activities for festival-goers.

For instance, the program schedule includes a flash mob, a Philippine heritage band, an ABBA singing party, and a salsa party, among others.

This event also promotes support for local businesses who are working towards recovering from social constraints, such as the COVID-19 pandemic.

PLACA says the two-day festival will take over a kilometre of Bathurst Street with over 130 booths, food vendors, community organizations, vibrant parades and more.

This means drivers can expect a road closure from Laurelcrest Avenue to Wilson Avenue.

The festival kicks off with a parade at 9 a.m. on Saturday.
