Have you heard about Toronto’s big New Year’s Eve plans? The waterfront will come alive with a free night of entertainment, performances, and a show-stopping fireworks display as the city counts down to 2026.
As we say goodbye to 2025, the search is on for the perfect New Year’s Eve plan, and Toronto’s wide range of celebrations has something for everyone.
From 10 p.m. to midnight on Dec. 31, celebrations will unfold across three major waterfront locations: Sherbourne Common (61 Dockside Dr.), the Toronto Music Garden (476 Queens Quay W.), and Harbourfront Centre (235 Queens Quay W.). Each spot will bring its own energy and attractions, offering a lively stretch of entertainment along the stunning shoreline.

At Sherbourne Common, attendees can hop into a dance class co-produced with The Dance Together Festival, giving everyone a chance to shuffle their way into the new year.
Over at the Toronto Music Garden and nearby Sugar Beach, INCIRQUE performers will bring high-energy circus-inspired acts that promise to keep the crowd captivated.
And for those looking for a tamer celebration, a curated selection of short films from the National Film Board of Canada will be projected onto the east side of the Canada Malting Silos, all visible from the Music Garden.
As midnight approaches, the highly-anticipated countdown will be led by Mayor Olivia Chow, Toronto drag superstar Makayla Couture, along with CTV News Toronto/CP24 weather anchor and reporter Jessica Smith followed by fireworks illuminating the skyline.
Those who aren’t able to attend the celebrations can tune into a live webcast, which will start streaming at 10 p.m. and will include American Sign Language (ASL) interpretation and closed captioning for accessibility. The stream will be available on the City’s CultureTO YouTube channel .
The celebration runs from 10 p.m. on Dec. 31 to 12 a.m. on Jan. 1, and the entire event is free and open to everyone. This is the perfect chance to gather with friends, family, and even neighbours to openheartedly welcome a new chapter along the picturesque lake.
