
Toronto’s beloved holiday tradition, The Nutcracker, has just a few days left on stage, and there’s a budget-friendly way to experience the magic before it’s gone.
The National Ballet of Canada’s (NBOC) iconic production has returned to the Four Seasons Centre for the Performing Arts, celebrating a milestone 30 years in the city. On until Dec. 31, the annual tradition has delighted audiences over the last three decades with composer Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky’s timeless score, dazzling costumes, and a story full of wonder. Its impact in Toronto runs so deep that even Raptors guards Jamal Shead and Scottie Barnes joined the cast last weekend, debuting as the Cannon Dolls for a one-night show, following in the footsteps of former players Kyle Lowry and Matt Thomas.

While regular tickets for this celebrated performance are sold out — and typically come with a higher price tag, especially during the holidays — there’s a sweet saving option: there are standing room tickets available for just $12!
Standing room spots are offered on a first-come, first-served basis and go on sale at 11 a.m. on the day of the performance. For the 11:00 a.m. performances on Dec. 24 and 31, tickets will go on sale at 9:00 a.m. This option makes it possible for people of all ages to enjoy one of the season’s most magical shows without breaking the bank.
