Where to celebrate Canada Day 2025 across the GTA

From downtown festivities to lakeside fireworks, Canada Day 2025 is shaping up to be a celebration to remember across the GTA.

Here’s a roundup of the biggest (and best!) Canada Day events happening across Toronto, Mississauga, Ajax, and beyond.

TORONTO

Nathan Phillips Square

Enjoy free, family-friendly fun in the heart of the city with live music, epic dance performances, and face painting. The  event will take place from 12 p.m. to 5:30 p.m.

Queen’s Park

The downtown core gets festive from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. with two entertainment stages, midway rides, crafts, and tours of the Legislative Assembly. Also, don’t miss breakdancing champion Phil Wizard at 4 p.m.!

Amesbury Park

In the west end? Head to 151 Culford Rd. for a full day of fun with a flea market, inflatables, food trucks, and live music starting at 10 a.m. The celebration wraps up with fireworks at 10 p.m. Don’t miss out on the fun!

East York Canada Day Festival
East York’s long-running celebration starts with a 10:30 a.m. parade from Dieppe Park to Stan Wadlow Park, where you’ll find a midway, market, beer garden, and entertainment all day. Fireworks light up the sky at 10 p.m.

Harbourfront Centre
Celebrate by the water at 235 Queens Quay W. with an outdoor market and free music, dance, comedy, and arts from 12 p.m. onward. Fireworks start at 10:45 p.m.

MISSISSAUGA

Canada Day at Celebration Square

Festivities kick off at 4 p.m. with a high-energy lineup! For the little ones, Camp Canuck runs until 8 p.m. with gymnastics on the Jumping Kids Bus, sensory play, face painting, and more! And when it’s time to refuel, Night Market TO will be serving up eats from 25-plus food trucks. Grab a bite, lounge on The Porch, and stay for the fireworks finale lighting up the Square.

Canada Day #InThePort

There’s something for everyone in Port Credit on Canada Day: free amusement rides (don’t miss the giant Ferris wheel), games, and three stages of live music featuring local favourites and rising talent. Roaming performers and buskers will keep the vibes going all day.

Stick around as the night wraps with a fireworks show lighting up the Credit River and Port Credit’s iconic lighthouse.

Streetsville Canada Day Celebrations

Enjoy live music, family-friendly activities, and free treats. The night wraps up with a ceremonial march, followed by a dazzling drone show and fireworks display at Memorial Park. The night starts at 6 p.m. and ends at 9 p.m. 

BRAMPTON

Chinguacousy Park

Hosted by Canadian entrepreneur Jesse Jones, the main stage will feature rising talent and Canadian country stars, including Kat Pinhorn, Quote The Raven and Dallas Smith with a special guest, and more!

You’ll also find inflatable rides, games, food vendors, and live entertainment throughout the park. The night wraps up with a fireworks show at 10 p.m., presented by Tim Hortons. The event starts at 12 p.m., and wraps up with the fireworks.

VAUGHAN 

North Maple Regional Park

Vaughan’s annual Canada Day celebration returns to North Maple Regional Park from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Enjoy a full day of live entertainment, all-ages activities, tasty eats, and a vibrant vendor market—perfect for a family-friendly day out.

AJAX

Celebrate Canada Day at Ajax Downs

Enjoy cultural performances, kids’ activities, live entertainment, interactive zones, food and beer vendors, and a bustling marketplace— activities start at 2 p.m., capped off with a fireworks show at 10 p.m.

MARKHAM 

Markham Centre in Downtown Markham 

Markham Centre is the place to be this Canada Day, with celebrations running from 3 to 10:30 p.m. Expect family-friendly entertainment, activities, and plenty of food options throughout the day. The night ends with a fireworks display at 10 p.m.

WHITBY

Celebrate Canada Day at Whitby, Victoria Fields Park

Whitby is going big this year with the largest fireworks show in Durham Region, lighting up the sky around 10 p.m. Head to Victoria Fields Park for the main event, and stop by the “Grab and Go” food truck hub at the Victoria Street parking lot from 5 to 10 p.m. for a bite before the show.

OAKVILLE

Bronte Heritage Waterfront Park 

Presented by Tim Hortons, this family-friendly event features cultural performances, crafts, sports, food trucks, and roaming entertainers. The night wraps with fireworks over Lake Ontario at 10 p.m., weather permitting.

HAMILTON 

Hamilton Canada Day at Bayfront Park

Hamilton’s Canada Day celebration is taking over Bayfront Park with a free, family-friendly event. Expect a full day of kids’ activities, arts and crafts, and plenty of fun and food in the park. Stick around for the grand finale: a custom fireworks show lighting up the night sky at 10 p.m.
