FIFA is bringing the World Cup hype to cities across Canada, offering fans a chance to participate in the celebrations regardless of where they live.

FIFA is partnering with cities across Canada to bring FIFA celebrations to over 30 communities across the country.

The organization says the stops for Canada Celebrates are strategically positioned to be within a two-hour drive for over 75 per cent of Canadian residents. It will bring fans together for live match viewings, soccer-themed activations, cultural programming, music, food, and “moments of national pride.”

“As a Canadian, it’s credibly meaningful to bring a taste of FIFA World Cup 2026 to communities across the country and ensure Canadian residents can be part of this historic moment,” Vittoria Montagliani, FIFA vice-president and Concacaf president, said in the press release.

“Beyond hosting matches in Toronto and Vancouver, this FIFA World Cup will create a legacy for football in this country – inspiring the next generation and growing the game for years to come.”

The one nearest to Toronto will be held in Mississauga, coinciding with Canada Day. John Kovac, the deputy mayor of Mississauga, says his city being one of the stops is “an honour.”

“Bringing the excitement of FIFA World Cup 2026 to our downtown will only help ignite the passion and growing popularity of soccer, not only in Mississauga but provincially and nationally,” Kovac wrote.

FIFA is also hosting a global Trophy Tour by Coca-Cola offering fans a chance to see the World Cup up close and personal. Their two Canadian stops are Vancouver and Toronto. It says there will be free giveaways at those events, tickets for which can be purchased on their website.
