Police in York Region are looking for a suspect after a dog was recently abandoned in a snowy park in the Town of Georgina.

Police were called to a dog park in the Lake Dr. S. and Robert St. area due to complaints about an animal, at about 8:15 on the morning of Feb. 2.

Officers found a large dog, believed to be a Cane Corso, tied to a pole. Police say the dog was not in distress and had no visible injuries. She was then taken to Georgina Animal Shelter and Adoption Centre to be cared for.

The centre named her Winter, but the good girl in question is not currently available for adoption.

SUSPECT CAUGHT ON CAMERA

York police released footage from the area at the time the dog was abandoned.
