What to know
- Eastern Avenue, Adelaide Street East and Richmond Street East will close overnight Thursday for bridge rehabilitation work.

Toronto drivers should plan for several road closures beginning Thursday night as bridge rehabilitation work and major weekend events bring traffic restrictions across the city.
The closures will affect parts of the Don Valley Parkway, Eastern Avenue, Bloor Street West and Front Street West through the weekend.

Overnight construction closures Thursday
As part of the ongoing rehabilitation of the Eastern Avenue and Adelaide Street East bridges, the City of Toronto will close several roads overnight.
From 9 p.m. Thursday, July 16, until 5:30 a.m. Friday, July 17, the following roads will be closed:
- Eastern Avenue between Sumach Street and Broadview Avenue
- Adelaide Street East between Parliament Street and Eastern Avenue
- Richmond Street East between Eastern Avenue and Power Street
From 10:30 p.m. Thursday until 5:30 a.m. Friday, the southbound Don Valley Parkway off-ramp to Richmond Street will also be closed.
Big on Bloor closures
Drivers should also expect road closures in the city’s west end for the annual Big on Bloor festival.
From 8 a.m. Saturday, July 18, until 2 a.m. Monday, July 20, Bloor Street West between Dufferin Street and Lansdowne Avenue will be closed to vehicle traffic.
ImportFest traffic restrictions
Additional closures will be in effect downtown for ImportFest at the Metro Toronto Convention Centre.
From 8 p.m. Saturday, July 18, until 1 a.m. Sunday, July 19, closures will affect:
- Front Street West between Blue Jays Way and Lower Simcoe Street
- John Street between Front Street West and Wellington Street West
The City of Toronto is encouraging motorists to plan ahead, allow extra travel time, consider taking public transit and follow posted detour signs where applicable.
