This week’s must-see Toronto shows

Uma Nota

Fans of the Uma Nota music series know that its annual festival is about more than a single musician or DJ. It’s a participatory booty-shaking experience. Still, you’ll hear some great music at this year’s event. Sound One, Mar Aberto Sound System and Asiko Afrobeat Ensemble take over the Great Hall (1087 Queen West) Saturday (October 20) for a night of world funk. Sunday has a community cultural fair with Jo Lutério, Maria Bonita and a New Tradition at Supermarket (268 Augusta). Later, head to Revival (783 College) for the closing party, with Pedro Luis, Luanda Jones and Maninho Costa.
