A yellow warning has been issued by Environment Canada as strong southwesterly and northwesterly wind gusts of 70 to 90 km/h are expected today.

The national weather agency says the wind gusts are due to a strong cold front passing through southern Ontario today and are set to ease this evening.
Environment Canada warns that areas with significant ice build-up from freezing rain that happened yesterday will be the most vulnerable.
It adds that utility outages are possible today due to the wind, along with significant damage to buildings and trees.
“Secure loose objects. Stay away from fallen power lines. Prepare for some disruptions to transportation, services, and utilities,” the weather agency says on its website.
The windy conditions come after heavy rain and freezing rain hit the GTA on Sunday, causing big puddles, slippery sidewalks and messy roads.
