It looks like there is no beef between Drake and J. Cole.

In a new song, J. Cole talks about bowing out of the iconic rap feud between Toronto artist Drake and California’s Kendrick Lamar that dominated headlines earlier this year.

“They say I’m pickin’ sides, don’t you lie on me,” Cole raps in the song, titled “Port Antonio,” which dropped on Wednesday.

“Drake, you’ll always be my n****, I ain’t ashamed to say you did a lot for me, my n****,” the song continues.

Cole became embroiled in the iconic beef earlier this year when he was featured on Drake’s track “First Person Shooter” and claimed that the three artists were the biggest in the genre, but suggested he was the best of them all.

Kendrick fired back in a song with Metro Boomin and Future titled “Like That,” rapping “Mother**** the big three, n***, it’s just big me.”

Then Cole released his own diss track, “7 Minute Drill” calling out Lamar. However, Cole later removed the song from streaming platforms, calling it the “lamest” thing he’s ever done.

FANS RESPOND TO NEW J. COLE SONG

After Cole released the song on Wednesday, fans took to social media to share their thoughts.

Some people were relieved to see Cole settling the score on how he feels about Drake.

“Hope this clears the air. Y’all want Cole to be buddy buddy with Kendrick and have beef with Drake so bad even though we got more than a decade of documented friendship between him and Drake,” wrote one Redditor.

“Bro the flow, the beat, the message were all 🔥 I f***** loved everything about this song. He addressed everything. I’m listening to this for the rest of the night,” another person commented.

While others are confused by the new song.

“So is Cole still cool with Kendrick as well? This is confusing? He says in the song he gets along with both but he actually hangs out with Drake publicly,” one person commented online.

“He wasn’t saying he’s not cool with Kendrick, he literally said in this quote ‘they say I’m picking sides, don’t lie on me’. Cole is didn’t pick a side. Kendrick dissed Cole but so did Drake. This changes nothing imo,” commented another.

And some people think the entire situation has been blown out of proportion.

“Not going to lie seeing three fanbases throw dirt at each other like children over someone they will never know is so funny, you’re all goofy and unserious, it’s not just one or the other fanbase dominating this exchange,” one Reddit user shared.

“Can’t wait for a moment when Cole explicitly says he’s good with Kendrick to see mental gymnastics complete its course.”
