“I can’t wait for the episode where they chase a guy down for eating a Shawarma while talking on his cellphone on the Gardiner Expressway,” one Twitter user wrote.

“Wouldn’t the Toronto version just be the cops catching the exact same criminals every week? Or would it be trying to make our justice system look like less of a joke?” another said.

But following the first look, plus the cast and character reveal, people are seemingly more optimistic and supportive.

“So excited for this!,” one Instagram user commented.

“Wow! Just saw this! Looks really good,” another user wrote.
