Halloween is almost here, and for those who have yet to choose the perfect costume, Google is sharing the top trending costumes that Canadians are interested in this year.
As the spooky season approaches, Google Search has unveiled Canadians’ top searches for Halloween costumes, with references of pop culture, TV wonders, and even famous accessories.
KPop Demon Hunters
One of this year’s most popular animated Netflix series is proving to be a success on and off the screens, and promises to be one of the main hits this Halloween. Costume ideas for characters like Rumi, Zoey, and Jinu are at the top of this year’s trending Google searches, for both adults and children. Fans seem to be especially fascinated with recreating the characters’ signature coloured hair, with several searches for “costume wig,” “purple hair extensions” and “purple hair dye.”
Real-life Labubus
It is no surprise that after its worldwide exploding popularity, Labubus would be at the top of choices for Halloween costumes this year. Google Search trends reveal the fluffy accessory is the sixth most popular in costume searches this year, and the second choice for children in the country.
With the little monsters’ strong visual personalities and stylish looks, it isn’t hard to see why so many people will choose to match their newest favourite purse accessory.

Glinda and Elphaba
The cinema hit Wicked seems to also be making a comeback this Halloween, as Canada saw an all-time high over the past month in Google searches for “Glinda costume,” which was twice more popular than searches for “Elphaba costume.”
Regardless of what side you are on, the pink and green gowns and accessories are promising to be a hit this year, as adults and children alike hope to feel like they are in The Wizard of Oz’s world.
Belly and Conrad
Another gem that seems to have come directly from the TV screens to real life is the popular Prime Video series “The Summer I Turned Pretty,” which had its final season released this summer. With the success of the teen romance, a lot of Canadians have also been looking for duo costume ideas on how to become the beloved couple Belly and Conrad.
Stitch and Angel
The Labubus aren’t the only furry characters making the cut for this Halloween. A favourite couple costume for this year is Disney’s alien pet Stitch, and his pink partner Angel. Requiring only fluffy blue and pink outfits, these characters might be an easy (and comfy) option for this year’s Halloween.
